EBB & FLOW
Miami University Fashion and Design, Miami’s largest student organization with 680 organization members, 45 student models, 13 student designers, and seven committees led by a 13 person executive board. The diverse organization seeks to promote and inspire self-expression, as well as professional and creative development. MUF&D provides students with a platform to explore their passions and gain fashion related experience.
In the midst of a global pandemic, MUF&D found a new and innovative way to present the largest student-run fashion show in the nation. The 15th Annual MUF&D Fashion Show: MANIFEST, was showcased through a film that highlights the work of creative individuals.
The Collection
Life is not static, but ever flowing. Within my MUF&D collection, I drew upon this idea by looking towards the ocean, a physical manifestation of the constant ebb and flow of changing times. I found inspiration within the textures of the sea, as well as the reflection of light. To reach the luminous surface and navigate uncharted waters, people have to utilize resources around them. I used unconventional materials such as table cloths, shower curtains, plastic sheeting, trash bags, and straws to transform items not normally seen as visually appealing, into something beautiful. The collection strives to inspire others to find elegance in the unconventional, and beauty in the unknown, for without these aspects of life, there would be no growth.

15th Annual Fashion Show Film
Instead of an in-person fashion show, MUF&D brought the 15th Annual Fashion Show to life through the production of a film. The medium allowed people from all over the United States to experience the fashion show. Special thanks to CopyHouse Films who helped bring our vision to life.
