The Unforeseeable Future

By Megan Goheen

My gaze
Feels merely as a maze
I attempt to see
The invisible
But it is not permissible

I rely on the past
But the memories
Never last
They dance in white
Like a figure in the night

I strive to live in the present
The image is so luminescent
Trying to savor the time
With those I call mine

The future is unknown
The anxiety is hidden, not shown
We look to our peers
To calm our fears

We find reassurance
That we are not alone
One day, our path
Will lead us home
